The South Carolina Hospital Association Every Patient Counts Team and the South Carolina Healthcare Alliance for Infection Prevention (SCHAIP) are excited to partner with Dr. Peter Pronovost and his Johns Hopkins Quality Improvement Team to offer the national “STOP BSI” initiative to our South Carolina member hospitals. On this page you will find information about this initiative and details for participation. If you would like to participate, please review all documents then sign and return the Hospital Commitment Form to assure your place. Please note that this project will utilize CLABSI rate data from the CDC NHSN system (the same system utilized for HAI reporting with the HIDA program). Therefore, we have been able to keep any additional reporting related to this project to a reasonable level. Also, please note the schedule of National Immersion Calls with Dr. Pronovost with the first kickoff call (two available times) being held on June 30, 2009 at 9am and 4pm. These calls are not mandatory but are offered for support and networking opportunities with other participating facilities across the nation. Please send your completed Hospital Commitment form to Kimberly Hubbard at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . Please direct any questions to Lorri Gibbons, State Project Lead at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or 803-744-3549. We are excited to partner with you in this project and look forward to reducing healthcare associated infections across our state. Tools
