Grime Scene Investigators: South Carolina The South Carolina Hospital Association (SCHA) launched a statewide hand hygiene initiative in the state’s nearly 100 public and private member hospitals last year called, “Save Lives: Clean Your Hands!” This clean hands campaign is a partnership with the World Health Organization’s (WHO) global hand hygiene initiative to reduce healthcare associated infection (HAI).
The South Carolina Clean Hands Campaign: Save Lives, Clean Your Hands! partnership also includes many key public health and community organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), AARP, South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SC DHEC), Mothers Against Medical Errors (MAME), Palmetto APIC, SC Department of Education, SC Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), SC ETV, South Carolina Voices for Patient Safety (SCVPS) and Novant Health. All participating hospitals are also asked to partner with local community organizations and groups to spread the word and teach proper hand hygiene.
